Diversity is more than just the visible: races, ethnicities and genders. It includes education, cultural experiences, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and many other invisible differences that make each of us unique. Our goal is to promote inclusion so that each employee feels free to contribute to their fullest potential.
A welcoming environment
We provide resources to our employees that foster inclusion and a better understanding about diversity. Our Employee Resource Groups (Equality Alliance, Evolving Professionals Connection, Multicultural Network, Veterans’ Alliance and Women’s Network) give all employees an opportunity to grow professionally, network, build community relationships and socialize with other employees.
How we do business
A diverse supplier base helps us meet the challenge of supplying everything from office supplies to vehicles in a timely and cost-effective manner. That is why we strongly support the use of minority, women and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. We are a long-standing member of Wisconsin Iowa and Central Illinois Minority Supplier Development Council (WICI). WICI certifies minority-owned businesses and matches them with member corporations.

We also devote resources to support the economic development of the communities we serve. We offer free site-location consulting to companies interested in expanding or relocating in our utility service territory, marketing and training assistance for economic development organizations, energy expertise for businesses and more.

Our Employee Resource GroupsThese groups serve as a resource for employees and provide an opportunity to participate in professional development, networking and community involvement. While each group has a particular focus, membership and participation is open to all employees.
The Equality Alliance group is an alliance of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) and straight employees that promotes a work environment where all employees feel safe from harassment and discrimination.
Evolving Professionals Connection (EPC)
The Evolving Professionals Connection (EPC) hosts events geared toward building a network within the company and pursuing career development.
Members of the Multicultural Network at Alliant Energy enjoy sharing and learning about the many home countries and backgrounds of our employees.
Works to educate and inspire Alliant Energy employees to learn sustainable practices – for work and home; discover how electric generation and environmental stewardship go hand in hand, and identify ways the company and employees can operate in a more sustainable manner.
The Veterans' Alliance provides in-house resources, programs and coaching contacts to our employees who have served in the military. It also works to improve veteran recruitment channels and support workforce planning and coretention efforts.
The Alliant Energy Women's Network offers all employees the opportunity to connect, support and share information about issues related to women
