Alliant Energy names Diane Cooke vice president of human resources

MADISON, Wis. – July 15, 2019 – John Larsen, Alliant Energy chairman, president and chief executive officer, announced that Diane Cooke has been named vice president of human resources. 

“Unleashing the creativity and talent of our employees is essential to meeting the changing needs of our customers and the communities we serve,” said Larsen. “Diane is a results-oriented business leader and has been recognized throughout her career for leveraging her diverse background to bring strategic, innovative solutions and strong business acumen in her work. We are excited to have her as a part of our leadership team.”

In her role, Diane will lead the company’s human resources area and serve as the top safety executive. Her responsibilities include employee and labor relations; talent acquisition and workforce planning; organizational development, training and culture; and diversity and inclusion. Diane reports to John Larsen.

Diane has served in senior management roles in human resources, strategic planning and business improvement at Schwan’s Company since 2003. She served most recently as chief human resources officer at Equus Holdings, Inc.

Diane holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa. She has also completed the advanced human resources executive education program at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. She served as a board member of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce and on the business advisory board of St. Catherine’s University in St. Paul.
