Alliant Energy promotes September Iowa Pipeline Safety Association virtual safety awareness training

Free online educational events for emergency responders and public officials

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – September 3, 2020 – First responders and government personnel involved in crisis planning will benefit from attending the Iowa Pipeline Association’s 2020 Pipeline Safety Awareness and Emergency Response Programs.

Alliant Energy is participating in the Coordinated Response Exercises and encourages emergency responders and public officials to attend, too. The training is designed to instruct attendees about pipeline safety and prevention strategies.

The free, community-based programs will cover:

  • Basic pipeline safety
  • Leak recognition
  • Hazard awareness
  • Damage prevention
  • Detailed incident response 

Like many events this year, the sessions will take place online. September events are listed below. Each session is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
