Senior Vice President – Operations
David de Leon is Senior Vice President of Operations for Alliant Energy Corporation (NASDAQ: LNT) in both Iowa and Wisconsin. He joined the company in 1987.
David began his career at Alliant Energy as a thermal performance engineer and has held multiple roles, each with increasing levels of leadership and responsibility. Throughout his career, David has focused on improving, maintaining and constructing the company’s operating assets.
In 2017, David was promoted to Vice President of Operations and from 2019 to 2025, David served as President of Alliant Energy’s Wisconsin energy company and Senior Vice President of Operations. In that role, he led operations, regulatory, economic development and large construction to deliver safe, reliable and affordable service to customers. In his continued operations role, David guides employees on ways to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations. Under his current leadership role, the operations team is responsible for customer experience and delivering innovative, reliable and affordable products and services. He serves as an ambassador, proudly sharing the company’s story and innovative strategies to Power What’s Next. He takes great pride in meeting with customers and participating in community events.
Outside of work, David volunteers for various activities to help strengthen the communities Alliant Energy customers and employees live and work in. David is a board member at Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin and proudly embraces their efforts to end hunger in Wisconsin. And he volunteers his time on different committees at United Way of Dane County to support addressing community needs.
David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and MBA from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. David is a Wisconsin Registered Professional Engineer and a member of the Leadership Greater Madison Alumni Association.
