a wind turbine in a field

Hub City Wind Farm

Advancing our energy future

Fast facts

  • Location: Towns of Day, McMillan, Eau Pleine, Cleveland and Green Valley (Marathon County, Wisconsin)
  • Size: 100 megawatts (MW), 20-25 wind turbines
  • Estimated annual production: 300,000 megawatt-hours (MWh)
  • Homes powered: About 30,000

The project will contribute financially from the Wisconsin Shared Utility Revenue Program, which results in up to an annual $5,000/MW payment for the life of the project. This is split between the hosting county and towns. As Hub City Wind Farm has an assumed nameplate capacity of 100MW, it is estimated to bring in $15,000,000 over its lifetime.

Project information

We’re developing a wind energy project in southwest Marathon County. The Hub City Wind Farm extends our historic presence in Wisconsin and unites a coalition of partners committed to building a strong, resilient energy future. Wind energy allows us to deliver safe, reliable, affordable energy to customers as part of a balanced mix of new and traditional generation sources.

This project will create new construction jobs and ongoing positions in operations and maintenance once in service. We expect it to generate enough renewable, low-cost energy to power nearly 30,000 homes annually.

Proposed timeline (subject to change)

  • 2027 - Submit permit application to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission (PSC).
  • 2029 - If approved, construction begins.
  • 2031 - Project operational.
