The Wild Rose wind project builds on our longstanding presence in Franklin County and unites a coalition of partnering landowners and community members committed to building a strong, resilient energy future. Wind plays a vital role in our all-of-the-above energy strategy to deliver safe, reliable, home-grown power to communities across the state. Franklin County is ideal for this wind project thanks to its abundant, high-quality wind conditions and valued community partnerships.
We own and operate three wind projects in Franklin County that generate enough energy to power over 160,000 homes. To date, these projects have contributed nearly $39 million in tax revenue to the county and over $17 million in lease payments to participating landowners. We acquired the Wild Rose wind project from Steelhead Americas in late 2024. It builds on our legacy and offers mutually beneficial partnerships with landowners and predictable, diverse income streams for rural families. This project will create new construction jobs and ongoing operation and maintenance positions once in service.
We were excited to acquire the Wild Rose Wind Farm project in December 2024. We’ve been a proud partner in Franklin County since our first wind farm became operational in the county in 2009. This project is an excellent complement to our existing wind portfolio in the county and will provide substantial economic benefits to landowners and the community.
