Alliant Energy® Peak Time Rewards for Iowa residential customers

Get paid for saving energy with Peak Time Rewards

When you join Peak Time Rewards, you’ll earn rewards for the energy you save when demand for electricity is high in the summer. We'll notify you when we schedule a Peak Time Rewards event and ask you to reduce your usage. You choose how to lower your usage during each event. We’ll give you $5 just for signing up and you’ll earn ongoing rewards for the energy you save.

How it works:

  • Enroll: Sign up for Peak Time Rewards by creating an account through FlexSaver, an easy-to-use platform powered by our partner Uplight. FlexSaver makes it simple to enroll, participate and track your energy savings. Plus, you’ll receive a $5 enrollment bonus.
  • Get event notifications: When we expect energy demand to spike in the summer, we'll schedule a Peak Time Rewards event and notify you. We’ll use these events to reduce energy use across our service area, which will help the grid.
  • Reduce usage: During an event, we’ll ask you to reduce your energy use. We’ll help with energy-saving tips and ideas. There's no need to connect a device; your smart meter will automatically track your savings.
  • Earn rewards: You’ll earn $1 per kilowatt-hour you save during the event compared to your normal usage. Once summer wraps up, you’ll get your rewards as a digital or physical Prepaid Mastercard — whichever you prefer.

Residential electric customers in Iowa are eligible to participate. Customers currently enrolled in Smart Hours are not eligible to join Peak Time Rewards.

With Peak Time Rewards, you’ll earn money, save energy and help flatten the curve when demand spikes.
