Cedar Ridge Wind Farm turbines

Cedar Ridge Wind Farm

The Cedar Ridge Wind Farm was our company's first of its kind in Wisconsin in 2008.

It’s part of our balanced energy mix that integrates renewable energy with traditional sources. We balance innovation with proven solutions to meet rising energy demands as we pave the way for a more reliable, safe, and responsible future.

Fast facts

  • Location: Eden and Empire, Wisconsin
  • Size: 68 megawatts
  • Number of turbines: 41
  • Homes powered: 17,000

Advancing our energy future: Repowering for tomorrow

We plan to upgrade several major components of the existing wind turbines to improve reliability, reduce unplanned outages, and lower maintenance costs. We will replace the gearboxes and main bearings, install leading-edge protection on the blades and update related components such as yaw drives, blade bearings, motors, and monitoring systems.

These improvements will enhance the efficiency and dispatchability of turbines for more consistent energy production. Upgrades will not alter the facility’s rated output or increase the turbines’ generating capacity.

We’ll conduct all work using existing access roads and within a 3-acre footprint around each turbine. We don’t plan to perform any grading or new construction beyond minimal leveling to create a safe workspace. We’ll avoid crane movement across native ground and put temporary stormwater controls in place. Once we complete the work, we’ll restore all areas to their prework condition.
