MADISON, WI / DUBUQUE, Iowa (Update #1 2:30 p.m. June 11, 2026) – As a result of severe weather this week, Alliant Energy crews are responding to widespread outages across Iowa and Wisconsin.
Alliant Energy crews have restored power to more than 40,000 customers in the last 24 hours. However, around 5,000 customers remain without service and, in some areas, restoration times have yet to be determined. In these cases, crews are still assessing damage, determining root causes and in some areas, coordinating with external partners because their equipment needs to be fixed first. Coupled with the rural terrain and the number of poles (~70) that need to be secured and replaced, determining accurate restoration times is more complex than normal. As restoration times are available, the information will be updated on the company’s outage map.
The outage map was recently updated for around 100 customers in the Creston/Kent area in Iowa. There is a 3-mile stretch of road with 28 consecutive downed poles that will require substantial repair efforts. Crews are projecting it could take about three days to fully restore service in that area.
Please be patient with crews as they work diligently to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
