President – Alliant Energy’s Wisconsin energy company and Vice President of Energy Delivery
Becky Valcq is President of Alliant Energy’s Wisconsin energy company and Vice President of Energy Delivery. As president, Becky has overall accountability for the company’s performance in the state. She oversees Wisconsin-based operations while supporting customer growth, and leads operations support and economic development efforts across both Iowa and Wisconsin.
Becky joined Alliant Energy in 2024 as Assistant Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. In the role, Becky was responsible for managing and building relationships with various stakeholders and regulators to achieve favorable outcomes. She ensured that the organization's strategic objectives were aligned with regulatory strategy and requirements.
Becky’s decades in the energy industry have given her a breadth of experience and deep expertise. Over the years she’s demonstrated a natural ability to effectively lead and guide teams to achieve organizational goals at various levels while working with broad sets of stakeholders.
Before joining Alliant Energy, Becky served for five years as the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. She was responsible for overseeing the regulation of Wisconsin's more than 1,000 water, electric and gas utilities including investor and municipally owned. She also led the State Energy Office, the Wisconsin Broadband Office and the Office of Energy Innovation and was a member of the Governor's cabinet.
Before being appointed to the Commission, Becky was a Partner at Quarles & Brady where she was a member of the firm's Energy, Environmental and Regulatory practice group.
She began her career at We Energies and worked for 15 years as regulatory in-house counsel where she had primary internal legal responsibility for the utility's regulatory activity in Wisconsin and Michigan, advised on and ensured compliance with administrative laws and regulations.
Becky graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Spanish from Drake University, and she graduated in 2000 from Marquette University Law School.
