Boaz microgrid

Operational since 2023, the Boaz microgrid is the first project of its kind in Wisconsin. It functions as a small-scale power grid with islanding capability, which means it has the ability to disconnect from the traditional grid and deliver power from a battery storage system. This can keep the community of Boaz operating independently in the event of an outage. The 400-kilowatt battery also improves reliability for approximately 120 customers in the village of Boaz.
