We're rebuilding the Bunker Hill substation to expand capacity and help us meet your needs today and into the future.
Proposed project timeline
First half of 2026
- Install a temporary substation near the existing site in the 1800 block of Finley Street.
- Remove existing substation and vegetation with equipment including a crane.
- Install a temporary fence around the entire site.
- Complete the foundation and below-grade work for the new expanded substation.
- Construct a new screening wall that will temporarily close some sidewalks.
Second half of 2026
- Start constructing the new substation inside the new screening wall.
- Receive deliveries at the site and temporarily utilize equipment, including a crane.
- Remove the temporary substation and return the site land to its natural state.
