Time of Day Program

Use energy when it costs less

Did you know your electricity costs change depending on WHEN you use it? With Time of Day you can reduce the amount you pay for electricity by using it wisely and at the right time. This program is for our residential customers in Iowa.

All the electricity you use during off-peak hours ─ 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. Monday through Friday during the week and, all hours every weekend and some holidays ─ are billed at a 50% discount.

Why? Off-peak hours are when the demand for electricity are lowest. When you use less electricity during the day, you help us keep the power flowing to all our customers.

The energy rates are posted below so you can compare the cost of electricity on and off the Time of Day rate. If you don't use as much electricity off-peak as you thought, and can't adapt your use to fit the program, we'll remove you from the Time of Day rate. We do ask that you remain on the program for a minimum of one year to see the benefit.
