Alliant Energy media kit
We’re excited to partner with you as we serve customers and build strong communities together.
This media kit contains tools to help spread the word about your important work and our partnership.
At Alliant Energy, we work hard to deliver safe, reliable energy every single day, and we build responsible infrastructure to be ready for the future.
Our purpose is to serve customers and build stronger communities and we use our energy every day to bring that purpose to life. We support nonprofits like yours because we believe thriving communities are built through collaboration, compassion and shared commitment.
We're excited to hear how our support has helped you make an impact. We hope you’ll share about your work and our combined efforts to build stronger communities. Social media is a great place to share your news.
To get the most out of your post, remember to:
- Include an image. Photos are good; videos are better. Candid, in-the-moment photos and videos of your team and/or community at events or otherwise contributing to your mission make good shots for social media. Make sure you have permission from people at private events to post on your social pages.
- Tag others. If you worked with another organization on the project or event you’re showcasing, tag them so their followers see the post too. Please include @alliantenergy in your posts on Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn.
- Choose the right social media platform for your post. Was your event for young people and you have great visuals to show it off? Post them on Instagram and TikTok if possible. Did your event involve members of the local business community? Share it on LinkedIn, where you can get your message in front of donors, job candidates and potential partners for future events.
- Include a couple sentences that highlight the way your event or initiative aligns with your values and impacts your community.
- If it makes sense for your budget and goals, consider boosting your post. Even $15 or $20 may help increase the number of people who learn about your work and its impact.
Here are a few tips for attention-grabbing photos and video:
- If the photo is for social media, it’s OK to hold the camera vertically, in portrait mode. Otherwise always shoot horizontally, in landscape mode.
- Avoid a bright background. This can make it difficult to see the subjects in your photo.
- When you photograph a person, have their eyes one-third of the way down from the top of the frame.
- When you email or text a photo, choose to send it in the largest file size possible to ensure the best quality.
We hope you include our logo on your social media posts and communications about the event or grant.
