Nights and Weekends program

Use energy when it costs less

With the Nights and Weekends program, formerly called the Time of Day program, you can reduce the amount you pay for electricity by using it wisely and at the right time.

Though most customers pay for energy based on seasonal averages, the actual cost of electricity fluctuates minute to minute. It’s usually most expensive during the day when demand is highest. It costs the lowest during off-peak hours, nights and weekends.

When you enroll in Nights and Weekends, we bill all the electricity you use during off-peak hours – 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, and all hours on weekends and some holidays  at a 50% discount. There is no additional cost to participate in the Nights and Weekends program.

We offer this to reduce peak demand and promote energy conservation. When you use less electricity during the day, you help us keep the power flowing to all our customers.

Here are some simple ways to save by using more electricity in the evenings and on weekends.

Use the energy rates below to compare the cost of electricity on and off the Nights and Weekends rate. If you don't use as much electricity off-peak as you thought and can't adapt your use to fit the program, you can switch back to the standard rate. We do ask that you remain on the program for a minimum of one year to see the benefit.
