Alliant Energy and Kohler Co. launch community clean power partnership

Collaborative effort will bring new solar field to the Kohler campus that will power local customers

Kohler, Wis. (April 21, 2021) – Alliant Energy and Kohler Co. team up to install a 2.25-megawatt ground-mounted solar system at Kohler’s headquarters campus in Kohler, Wisconsin. The clean power partnership will provide clean energy to power 580 homes per year. The Kohler Solar Field will be operational by the end of 2021.

“We are excited to work with Kohler to bring more clean energy to our customers,” said Zack Hill, Senior Project Manager at Alliant Energy. “Alliant Energy and Kohler share a mutual commitment to sustainability and renewable resources that will provide local economic and environmental benefits well into the future.”

The customer-hosted solar project is one of several environmental sustainability initiatives Kohler has undertaken since 2008 to reach NetZero GHG emissions across operations by 2035. The Alliant Energy® Customer-Hosted Renewables Program is part of Alliant Energy’s Clean Energy Vision, which aspires to attain net-zero carbon dioxide emissions from the electricity the company generates by 2050.

“This is an important element of our Better Planet environmental strategy because it’s helping the company reduce its impact while bringing a valuable long-term benefit to our local community,” says Ratish Namboothiry, Director of Innovation for Good and Sustainability of Kohler Co. “We look forward to working with Alliant Energy to bring clean energy to Sheboygan County.”
