Cedar Rapids hosts Sustainability Economy & Transportation Conference

Panel discussions, keynote speakers, vendor exhibits and electric vehicle ride and drive opportunity available at first-ever Cedar Rapids event

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – May 10, 2022 – Alliant Energy, the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance and the City of Cedar Rapids are teaming up to bring Cedar Rapids area residents and businesses a new, two-day event focused on sustainable economy and transportation opportunities and solutions.  

The Sustainable Economy & Transportation Conference will host representatives from businesses, organizations and communities from across the state of Iowa and beyond. Attendees can participate in panel sessions, hear from and network with industry experts as well as interact with exhibitors to learn more about business sustainability. Attendees will also have access to the electric vehicle display and Ride & Drive opportunity at Greene Square.  

Sustainable Transportation Day will be on Tuesday, May 24 (7:45 a.m. - 6 p.m.) and Sustainable Economy Day will be on Wednesday, May 25 (7:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.). The conference will take place at the Cedar Rapids Public Library, 450 Fifth Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, IA. 

Iowa deserves all the options and innovations available to keep communities and the state moving toward a more sustainable future for all. This collaborative and educational opportunity brings the latest in decarbonization strategies, low-and no-emission vehicles, equity and funding as well as challenges and opportunities in sustainable business pursuits to provide inspiration and actionable steps for attendees.
