Power chronicles graphic highlighting young girls in STEM

Powering a love of science and math

Do you know a budding engineer? Introduce them to “The Power Chronicles,” Alliant Energy’s cool new graphic novel designed to interest middle-school girls in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

STEM helps kids interpret and engage in the world around them and can lead to fulfilling, exciting education and career options. Girls and boys begin school with the same level of interest in STEM, but fewer young women tend to pursue STEM careers in adulthood. It’s important for girls to participate and see women at work in STEM to bolster their confidence and interest in these fields.

You’ll find “The Power Chronicles” on our main website alliantenergy.com with additional science content on our Alliant Energy Kids website. Journey through time with Akilah, a young STEM enthusiast who finds her power with the help of a professor, a pioneer of space travel, a solar tech inventor and other inspiring women mathematicians and scientists. Visit alliantenergy.com/powerchronicles to watch or read “The Power Chronicles,” and go to alliantenergykids.com for more free STEM classroom resources.
