We’re working toward a clean energy future for the communities we serve in Wisconsin and Iowa. Through our Clean Energy Blueprint, we're accelerating our transition to renewable energy – something that has become especially important as we work to sustain the economic and environmental health of the communities we serve. As part of this important work, we're including wind energy as part of our diversified energy mix.
Wind is a clean source of energy and a key part of our diversified energy mix. With wind there are no fuel costs, which means our investment in this renewable resource is cost-effective in the long run.
Alliant Energy is the third-largest utility owner-operator of regulated wind in the United States. We own and operate nearly 1,800 megawatts of wind energy across Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota. In Iowa alone, we're generating enough wind energy to power over 500,000 homes.
Energy generated via wind helps us achieve our aspirational goal of net-zero carbon dioxide emissions from the energy we generate by 2050. Additionally, wind provides economic benefits, including construction jobs and lease payments to landowners.
Alliant Energy is committed to powering customers and communities with clean, renewable and reliable energy. Check out our Clean Energy Blueprint for more ways we're acting today to meet our customers’ energy needs tomorrow.
