Managing rental properties means keeping track of a lot of information. We’re here to help you save time each month. A Landlord Property Arrangement organizes the utility bills for your rental properties into groups. We then consolidate the bills into one envelope.

A Landlord Property Arrangement ensures:

  • No concerns of a meter being turned off when a tenant ends service.
  • Notification when tenants cancel utility service and it reverts into the landlord’s name.
  • Consolidated monthly bills for rental properties, grouped by location and/or billing dates.

Terms and conditions

  1. A Landlord Property Arrangement is available to landlords with one or more rental properties.
  2. We will need a signed arrangement to place utility services back into the landlord’s name between tenants.

    Landlords will be responsible for providing Alliant Energy a list of any premises they want included in this arrangement.

    When a tenant moves, any services would automatically revert back to the landlord’s name for billing.

    This includes all utilities (gas, electric, lighting, etc.) Alliant Energy provides at that location.

  3. Landlord Property Arrangements will be billed on a separate account from any other accounts a landlord currently has. No personal accounts can be included.

  4. For billing purposes, properties will be grouped by service location.

  5. Multiple Landlord Property Arrangements may be required to accommodate all rental properties.

  6. A letter will be mailed to the landlord each time a tenant moves out and the services are reverted back to the landlord’s name.

  7. Payments for Landlord Property Arrangements need to be paid each month by the due date. All accounts billed on the Landlord Property Arrangement are subject to Alliant Energy’s collections processes.

  8. Accounts included on the Landlord Property Arrangement cannot be on Budget Billing or have a specially selected due date.

  9. The landlord understands and agrees that meters for each premise are read, as usual, on their regular route schedule. The account for the Landlord Property Arrangement will then bill when the last individual premise attached to the Landlord Property Arrangement account is read.

  10. Accounts are eligible for Automatic Payment and My Account, our online self-service tool.
