University of Wisconsin Center for Non-profits

The Alliant Energy Foundation’s community grants program contributes to educational efforts, as well as arts and culture, human needs, civic and environmental projects. Grants are awarded to initiatives and programs that address community needs and benefit a large number of people.

For example, the Alliant Energy Foundation is a proud sponsor of the Communiversity Dialogs; a series of lectures dedicated to bringing leaders in the non-profit world to the University of Wisconsin campus to discuss key contemporary issues. ]

Through these sessions, the Center for Community and Nonprofit Studies (COMMns) provides innovative research, education, and engagement opportunities for current and future non-profit leaders.

A $7,500 Community Grant from the Foundation helps to fund the Communiversity sessions, online access to series content and a two and a half day seminar entitled “Fundraising and Development Strategies for Non-profit Executives.”

By improving the non-profits’ organizational capacity, the Communiversity Dialogs inevitably help to increase the number of people served by local non-profits. Providing funding to an endeavor that influences so many non-profits enables the Alliant Energy Foundation to broaden the reach of our support, benefiting even more worthwhile causes.
