Community and Stewardship
Hometown Rewards
Hometown Rewards is a partnership that encourages all community members – residents, government, businesses and industries – to develop and implement energy-management initiatives that save money and improve the environment.
As of April 1, 2019, we have discontinued the Hometown Rewards program and are no longer accepting applications for new cities. The program will continue in Ottumwa as planned through April 30, 2020.
The Hometown Rewards program rewards Iowa communities for cutting back energy use. We partner with your town to set energy-savings goals and find ways to meet them over a two-year period.
If goals are met, Alliant Energy will help fund an energy-efficient project chosen by your community. Our past projects include new LED streetlights, an energy-efficient heating and cooling system for a school and solar panels for a town library.
