Good is happening all around. Do you see it?
We partner with our communities every day to make things better for families, education and the environment. Working closely with local nonprofits, we volunteered nearly 90,000 hours and donated the equivalent of 1.83 million meals last year.
Take a look around and see the good we can accomplish together.
FoodWe support organizations fighting hunger across our states, like Fondy Food Pantry and Northeast Iowa Food Bank. Our freshest collaboration? Refrigerated mobile food pantries, which bring produce and other food to people in rural or remote areas.
ShelterStable housing makes for stable families. Our Community Grants support organizations like Wisconsin’s The Road Home, which works quickly to provide housing for homeless families, getting them back on the path to stability. Read some of their incredible stories.
We’re big Habitat for Humanity fans. Alliant Energy employees have volunteered building homes all across our service area. Talk about a rewarding day at the office! Video: Alliant Energy and Habitat for Humanity
In 2018, Mother Nature took a swing at many of our communities. Wisconsin towns faced flooding, and Marshalltown, Iowa, was hit with EF-3 tornados, destroying homes and businesses.
The Foundation provided relief through the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and Community Action Programs to feed and house displaced families, while Alliant Energy crews worked quickly to safely restore power. In summer 2019, employee volunteers will work with Habitat for Humanity to rebuild Marshalltown homes.
Planet and pollinatorsAlliant Energy is building wind farms and solar gardens for a cleaner future. At the same time, we invest in efforts to clean waterways and revitalize parks, trails and nature centers, fostering a love for the planet in people young and old. We also support efforts in Iowa and Wisconsin to plant native prairies and help pollinators thrive.
We support organizations that celebrate diverse voices in a community, like United Way, Latino Service Providers Coalition and Madison Urban League. Our employees serve on boards, and our corporate sponsorships and Community Grants support the mission of organizations breaking down barriers for minorities and making positive change.
Hometown Safety Grants help purchase equipment for community first responders – like new personal protective equipment, AED kits and thermal imaging cameras. This program is especially impactful in rural and small towns, where the extra help can fund projects that might otherwise have been delayed.
