E-Community Mount Vernon

Alliant Energy has awarded the Mount Vernon Development Corporation (MVDC) $85,000 in incentive awards as a result of completing a number of goals associated with the E-Community Mt. Vernon project.

MVDC set aside over $60,000 for community projects which is available to interested groups or individuals from Mt. Vernon for programs which support or result in:

• energy conservation, environmental initiatives/education, or
• community enrichment and beautification, or
• historic perseveration, or
• recreational programs.

Interested parties can apply to MVDC to utilize the incentive awards using the attached grant application. Applications will be accepted at the Mt. Vernon Visitor’s Center until October 1st 2007 (MVDC may consider emergency requests prior to October 1st as needed). Applicants will be notified of the results of the awards process by November 1st, 2007.

Priority will be given to grant applications which provide matching funds (either cash or in-kind) and projects that are original.
