E-Community Mount Vernon Partner

Alliant Energy is proud to partner with the Mount Vernon Development Corporation (MVCD) to facilitate the E-Community: Mount Vernon program.

The mission of the Mount Vernon Development Corporation is to provide leadership to strengthen our business environment through the retention, expansion, recruitment and creation of businesses in the Mount Vernon Area while supporting improvements to the quality of life.

 Started in 1958 by a group of local business people, MVDC has a long history in Mount Vernon, Iowa. The non-profit corporation has worked with the City, local citizens, and businesses on several development related activities.

Today the organization is focused upon keeping up with the fast pace of business as usual. Preparing Mount Vernon and area businesses for increases in population and requests for services is just one of the planning dimensions of the MVDC. Maintaining the integrity of our hometown lifestyle is another dimension of our approach.

As the MVDC, we seek to provide leadership in the planning of our community’s future and we work to get the necessary tasks accomplished. The MVDC is proud of our area’s businesses, community and city leadership, who work together to plan and implement tough projects on behalf of our citizens.
