Efficient Heating & Cooling Initiative

Focus on Energy offers Cash-Back Rewards for customers who purchase qualified heating and cooling equipment from participating HVAC contractors.

Home Performance with ENERGY STAR^®

This program helps increase the comfort and efficiency of existing homes. Trained consultants perform comprehensive home evaluations, which include checking insulation levels, conducting blower door tests for air leaks, checking the safety of combustion equipment and addressing problem areas.

More than 150 companies participate in Home Performance with ENERGY STAR, including consultants, insulation contractors, home improvement and remodeling companies.

By participating in Home Performance with ENERGY STAR, you can offer Cash-Back Rewards to your customers and your business will be eligible for co-op advertising. Plus, you’ll gain valuable knowledge about home performance issues through the free, two-day basic building science training offered by Focus on Energy.

Wisconsin ENERGY STAR Homes

Builders and other allies: the Wisconsin ENERGY STAR Homes Program for new residential construction can help you provide your customers with the added peace of mind that the quality of your work and the performance of their new home has been verified, meeting or exceeding nationally recognized and proven cold climate building standards.

Consultants in the program provide builders and allies with testing and/or informational resources on the following issues:

Draft-free construction
Ventilation system design, tested capacity and indoor air quality
The safe operation of combustion equipment in new homes
New product and technology evaluations, with the ability to model upgrades/options
Homeowner education

The Wisconsin ENERGY STAR Homes Program offers low-cost technical training opportunities, problem-solving assistance, local and statewide promotion of your business, Cash-Back Rewards on specific equipment and co-op advertising.

Apartment and Condo Efficiency Services

This program responds promptly when participating contractor allies refer customers owning or managing buildings with four or more units.

A program consultant quickly completes an energy assessment and sends the owner and contractor estimates of energy savings and available program rewards. Higher rewards for highest efficiency equipment and for projects improving multiple systems encourage owners to implement better and more energy-saving measures.

Typical projects include upgrading to energy-efficient HVAC and water heating equipment and installing energy-efficient lighting in common areas.

As a program ally, you can increase your business by giving your customers access to these independent, objective recommendations and Cash-Back Rewards.

Other residential programs

Focus on Energy also offers the Targeted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program to help income-eligible Wisconsin residents make energy efficiency improvements to their homes.

In addition, lighting and appliance retailers who carry ENERGY STAR-qualified appliances and/or lighting products can sign up to be eligible for co-op advertising, sales training and Cash-Back Rewards for your customers.
