The Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve by supporting health and human services programs, education endeavors, cultural initiatives and environmental efforts. Learn more about the Alliant Energy Foundation Volunteer ProgramThroughout the year, you'll find Alliant Energy employees and retirees volunteering their time and talents in their local school, churches and community groups. Alliant Energy's “Empowering Our Communities” program recognizes and supports these dedicated volunteers by providing $100 grants to non-profit organizations in the volunteer's name. During 2004, more than 300 employees and retirees took advantage of the program by tracking a total of nearly 45,000 volunteer hours. The Alliant Energy Foundation directed more than $60,000 in their names to hundreds of non-profit organizations. Learn more about our employee volunteer program Matching GiftsIn addition to the Empowering Our Communities program, the Alliant Energy Foundation also offers employees and retirees a Matching Gifts Program, providing dollar-for-dollar matches for donations to qualifying non-profit associations. During 2004, the Foundation matched gifts from more than 1,400 eligible participants. The total awarded of nearly $575,000 reflected gifts to a variety of organizations and institutions across the country. Learn more about our Matching Gifts program Stewards of NatureWhen Alliant Energy employees were looking for ways to connect with others concerned with environmental preservation, they joined forces to establish the Stewards of Nature program in 1992. Stewards of Nature activities help stabilize ecosystems, promote a greater understanding of the natural world through field trips and seminars, and strengthen Alliant Energy's company-wide environmental ethic. “I’m grateful for the Alliant Energy Foundation’s Matching Gifts program. Because of this, our donation to breast cancer research qualified for a matching gift, and we were able to donate even more money to a cause that is very near and dear to our hearts.”
“Alliant Energy exhibits its Midwestern roots and values through generous support of community needs and support of employee volunteerism. The company has supported and encouraged my involvement in a number of community organizations.”
