Appliance Rewards

For Alliant Energy residential customers in Minnesota

WasherWhen buying an appliance, remember that it has two price tags: what you pay to take it home and what you pay for the energy and water it uses.

ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances incorporate advanced technologies that use 10–50 percent less energy and water than standard models. The money you save on your utility bills can more than make up for the cost of a more expensive but more efficient ENERGY STAR model. Plus, IPL will give you cash back on your qualifying ENERGY STAR appliance purchase.

Eligible equipment and reward amounts:

Clothes Washers

Through superior design and features, ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers clean clothes using 40 percent less energy than standard washers. And most full-sized ENERGY STAR washers use 18-25 gallons of water per load, compared to 40 gallons used by a standard machine. They also extract more water from clothes during the spin cycle, which reduces drying time and heating energy. ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers are available in both top-loading and frontloading designs.

Room air conditioners

ENERGY STAR qualified room air conditioners use at least 10 percent less energy than conventional models. These models often include timers for better temperature control, allowing you to use the minimum amount of energy needed to cool your room. Make sure your unit is properly sized to your dwelling – most people install units that are too large, and thus inefficient.
