Easy on your schedule and easy on your wallet
BOC training includes seven courses that equal almost 80 hours of classroom and project work in building systems operation and maintenance. Each course is completed in one day, except for HVAC Systems and Controls, which is a two day class. The courses are scheduled over a seven-month period to minimize time away from work. Topics covered include:
In addition to classroom training, you must complete five projects at your own facility. Each project requires you to apply the skills taught in the classroom. Once you complete all required projects and pass your written exams, you are eligible for certification.
Cost and tuition assistance
The cost for all BOC certification courses is $1,150 per person. To help pay for tuition, Alliant Energy-IPL offers qualified customers up to $500 in tuition assistance. In addition, energy cost savings can further offset tuition costs. Businesses can expect to achieve annual energy savings from $1,250 - $10,000 depending on facility size.
Online registration is available at www.boccentral.org.
