Professional Scholarships

The purpose of the Professional Scholarship Program is to build the energy efficiency skills of the Trade Allies and Trade Associates in Alliant Energy communities through attendance at approved energy efficiency courses or trade and technical classes.

Alliant Energy will pay 50 percent of the cost of tuition for an approved course up to the allotted budget for Participating Dealers and Trade Associates per year.

Participation guidelines

  • The Participating Dealer or Trade Associate must be a member of the Trade Ally program and actively involved in energy-efficient activities in a community served by Alliant Energy.
  • The business which employs the applicant agrees to pay all associated travel and lodging in order for the employee to complete the training.
  • Alliant Energy will not cover the cost for professional membership conferences. This is for advanced energy efficiency training or trade and technical classes only.

  • The International Ground Source Heat Pump Association
  • Iowa Heat Pump Association
  • Iowa Energy Center
  • Other approved Alliant Energy courses (contact your trade account manager for more details)

Requirements for reimbursement

Complete and mail in the Scholarship Reimbursement form. Be sure to review the guidelines and call your trade account manager for pre-approval first.

The programs outlined here are effective January 1, 2009, through December 31, 2009, and are subject to periodic review and modification by Alliant Energy.

Alliant Energy trade account managers will make decisions regarding the validity of claims. Program assistance and participation will be awarded on a competitive basis until all available funds are exhausted.
