2009 New Home Construction Rewards quick reference
The reward programs outlined below are offered to Iowa residential electric and/or gas customers and are effective from January 1, 2009, through December 31, 2009.
PLEASE NOTE: Before submitting claims, please review the “Terms & Conditions” on the claim form carefully. Claim forms must be filled out completely and all receipts must be included to avoid delays in processing.
This program provides rebates on the purchase and installation of high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment, including natural gas furnaces and boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, clock programmable thermostats and water heaters.
This program offers incentives for the construction of an energy-efficient new home. Base rebates range from $500 to $1,750 depending on the square footage of the home and whether the home receives heating and/or cooling energy from Alliant Energy-IPL.

This program offers homeowners $25 per qualifying door, window or sash. Qualifying doors and windows must be rated for the Northern climate zone and be a minimum of 8 square feet each.
This program offers residential and business electric customers a $2 reward on each ENERGY STAR rated compact fluorescent light bulb they install. It also provides a $20 reward per qualifying lighting fixture or ceiling fan with lighting kits.
This program offers customers a rebate on the purchase of an ENERGY STAR rated washer, refrigerator, freezer or room air conditioner.
This program helps customers dispose of old, inefficient refrigerators, freezers and window air conditioners. Alliant Energy-IPL partners with a recycling contractor to remove and dispose of appliances safely.
Customers receive $35 per appliance or can elect to donate the $35 to help local families in need (tax deductible).
This program offers qualifying Iowa homeowners a free professional energy audit and an incentive for upgrading insulation.
Alliant Energy-IPL will send a certified energy expert to inspect the customer's home. The expert will help the homeowner identify ways to reduce energy usage and give an estimate of the cost for improvements.
Alliant Energy-IPL will pay a portion of the customer's cost of upgrading insulation and weatherization measures:
Cost includes contract labor and equipment rental (excludes labor if done by customer).
With low-interest financing from Alliant Energy-IPL and our financial institution, loans of $1,500 to $25,000 are provided to qualifying customers with no loan fees, points, security liens or down payments. Customers can choose the terms that meet their individual needs.
The Appliance cycling program offers residential electric customers a bill credit for allowing a cycling switch to be installed on their central air conditioner and/or electric water heater.
Alliant Energy-IPL pays an $8 bill credit on the June, July, August and September bills for the air conditioner switch. If the customer also cycles an electric water heater, Alliant Energy-IPL adds an additional two dollars to the monthly bill credit.
