Energy-Efficient Bulbs and Fixtures

- Pulse start or ceramic metal halide < 320 watts*
- Pulse start or ceramic metal halide > 320 watts*
- Metal halide replacement lamp < 360 watt replacing 400 watt
- Heat lamps < 175 watts
- Photoluminescent or LED exit signs/replacing incandescent or CFL*

*For existing installation, qualified fixture may be new pulse start metal halide fixtures or retrofit kits that replace probe. The retrofit kit must include lamp and ballast.

Linear Fluorescent Lighting

- If replacing existing units, must replace T12 or standard T8
- Ballasts must be less than 0.79 ballast factor
- Lamp and ballast combinations must be listed on CEE Qualifying Products list
- Fixtures or controls must be installed on agricultural property owned by Iowa retail electric customers of Alliant Energy
- Agricultural fixtures and controls must meet state electric code and must be dustproof, waterproof and corrosion resistant
- All CFL or LED bulbs and fixtures must be ENERGY STAR or Design Lights Consortium (DLC) qualified

- All CFL and LED bulbs and fixtures must be ENERGY STAR or DesignLights Consortium (DLC) qualified

What should I do if an LED’s rating is pending ENERGY STAR OR DLC?
- If the rating for a light is pending, a customer, dealer or manufacturer can submit a LED Approval Form to Alliant Energy so the unit can qualify for a rebate.
- To qualify, lights must meet certain quality standards. The specific light must also have been submitted for a rating from Energy Star or DLC. Proof of this submission is required for approval from Alliant Energy.
- Download an LED approval form. After submitting a LED approval form, Alliant Energy will either accept the specific make and model for a rebate, or reject it. If a light is approved, a signed form will be returned to the person who submitted it.

 


Permanent Lamp Removal (Delamping)

- T12 or T8 - $0.50 per foot
- High Bay - $0.05 per watt
-  Permanent lamp removal can be claimed if completed project results in a net reduction in the quantity of lamps. Delamping must be accompanied with lamp and ballast replacement/retrofit. The total number of lamps claimed for delamping cannot be more than the number of replacement lamps installed. Fixtures that are delamped in entirety must also be dewired from the system and the ballast(s) completely removed in order to qualify for rebates.
- High bay delamping is based on total number of watts removed from the system
