Alliant Energy Foundation awards $1,000 Community Service Scholarship to Daniel Wimann
Janesville Craig High School student plans to business at UW-Whitewater or Marquette University
MADISON, WI – May 26, 2009 – Daniel Wimann of Janesville, Wisconsin, a graduating senior at Janesville Craig High School, was recently awarded a $1,000 Community Service Scholarship from the Alliant Energy Foundation. Wimann is one of twenty-five students from across the Alliant Energy utility service territory to receive a $1,000 Community Service Scholarship from the company’s foundation in 2009. He plans to study business at either UW-Whitewater or Marquette University this fall. Daniel is the son of David and Denise Wimann.
“We are pleased to provide scholarships for promising young adults to support their higher education goals and help them get started on their future path,” said Barbara Swan, President of the Alliant Energy Foundation. “It is important that we support them as they will be leaders of our next generation and a critical part of tomorrow’s workforce.”
The Alliant Energy Foundation Community Service Scholarship recognizes outstanding community leadership in young people and is designed to help first-time college students reach their academic goals. The program considers several criteria, including leadership experience and community service or volunteer activities as well as the content of a 300-word essay submission.
