Iowa Electric Rates

2009 Iowa Electric Rate CaseOn January 19, 2010, the Iowa Utilites Board (IUB) issued its written decision on IPL's request to change its electric rates. The IUB's decision struck a balance between mitigating cost impact on customers and our commitment to serve.

The IUB approved no additional changes to interim rates that were implemented in March 2009 ($84 million or approximately 8 percent).

However, the IUB approved increased funding for transmission costs, as well as recovery of Sutherland Generating Station Unit 4 cancellation costs through the use of funds previously set aside when IPL sold its nuclear generating facility and transmission system.
