- The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) through USDA-Rural Development, offers grants, guaranteed loans, and combination grant/guaranteed loans to help agricultural producers and rural small businesses purchase and install renewable energy systems and make energy efficiency improvements in rural areas. Grants are also available to eligible entities to conduct feasibility studies and energy audits that will provide recommendations and information on how to improve the energy efficiency of the operations of the agricultural producers and rural small businesses; and on how to use renewable energy technologies and resources in these operations.

- The state of Minnesota now has a rebate available for small wind turbine systems. Residential systems less than 35 kW may qualify for a rebate amount of 35% of eligible system and installation costs up to $10,000.
