Business Conservation Programs

Whether it's a farm, small business or commercial/industrial facility, Alliant Energy's conservation programs for businesses offer a wide variety of energy-saving options.

Wisconsin and Minnesota: Shared Savings

The Shared Savings program allows business and agriculture customers to implement energy efficiency measures without any up-front costs. Alliant Energy helps customers identify and evaluate energy saving projects and technologies.

Customers later repay Alliant Energy for the cost of the projects implemented through installments on their utility bills. Once repaid, the customer continues to enjoy the benefits of the energy savings.

Since 1997, Shared Savings has helped Wisconsin farm and businesses conserve more than 500 million kilowatt hours of electricity. This is equivalent to the amount of electricity generated from a 175-megawatt power plant, or enough to supply nearly 70,000 homes for a full year.

Shared Savings is also responsible for helping Wisconsin's environment by preventing more than two million pounds of sulfur dioxide, one million pounds of nitrogen oxides and 200,000 tons of carbon dioxide from being emitted into the air.

Iowa: Performance Contracting and other incentives

Commercial and industrial customers can choose Performance Contracting to invest in high-performance equipment with little or no up-front capital. Iowa businesses can also take advantage of Custom Rebates and Commercial New Construction incentives.

Small business customers in Iowa and Minnesota have the opportunity for conservation incentives on new heating and cooling equipment, as well as energy-smart lighting, variable frequency drives and more.

Agriculture customers in Iowa and Minnesota can take advantage of energy efficiency rebates on high-efficiency farm equipment, including milking equipment, lighting, ventilation, irrigation and tractor heater timers.
