How to Avoid Service Disconnection

To avoid service disconnection, it is very important to take action on past due bills immediately.

  • If we must disconnect your service, we cannot guarantee same-day re-connection.
  • If your service has been disconnected for non-payment, you will be charged an additional fee for re-connection.
  • Alliant Energy field service personnel in Iowa and Wisconsin will not accept payments in person.

If you receive a disconnection notice, please call our Customer Service Center at 1-800-ALLIANT (1-800-255-4268) right away to discuss a payment plan and to learn about our payment options.

Making a same-day payment

You can pay a past due bill with one of our same-day electronic payment options:

  • Speedpay® telephone and Internet payments
  • Western Union wire transfers (call 1-800-ALLIANT for the correct company code)

If you choose one of these options, please notify us that a payment was made using Speedpay or Western Union; we'll verify your payment with the vendor and note it on your account.

Please note: These third-party providers charge a transaction fee for their services.
