SAVE yourself from heating and cooling headaches
Buying a new heating and cooling system can be expensive. When making that kind of investment, ensure it delivers maximum efficiency and comfort levels to your home. To do this, evaluate multiple bids from contractors that hold themselves to a higher standard of quality.
This standard is called SAVE certification. It’s a way to be sure that your newly installed furnace is working at peak performance. You can get it by choosing a heating and cooling professional that’s SAVE-certified.
Alliant Energy believes so strongly in the effectiveness of SAVE certification that we have made it part of our rebate program. Starting on January 1, 2014, you will need to use a SAVE-certified heating and cooling professional if you want to receive an Alliant Energy rebate on your qualified heating and cooling unit.
SAVE is a training and certification program that ensures heating and cooling professionals have the skills needed to make a system perform at peak efficiency. A SAVE-certified contractor will:
- Perform critical HVAC tests
- Install equipment to the highest efficiency standards
- Improve comfort and efficiency
To ensure your heating and cooling system is SAVE-certified, make sure your contractor is SAVE-certified. To find a contractor near you, check online or call our Energy Efficiency Hotline at 1-866-ALLIANT (1-866-255-4268).
Make projects happen with low-interest financing
You know you could save money on your energy bills if you got new windows. But it takes money – and a lot of it – to replace windows. It’s the age-old conundrum – it takes money to make money (or in this case, save money).
Alliant Energy’s low-interest financing program is here to help. Designed to put energy efficiency projects within reach, interest rates are as low as zero percent, and terms range from 0-60 months. Ideal low-interest financing projects have the potential to yield big energy savings. The minimum loan amount is $1,500, while the maximum is $25,000.
Financing is available for qualifying equipment and contract labor. Do-it-yourself labor expenses do not qualify for financing. Low-interest financing cannot be combined with any other rebates. If you qualify for the low-interest financing per our financial institution’s requirements, there are no fees (processing fees, points, down payments or security liens) to obtain the loan.
Call Alliant Energy’s Energy Efficiency Hotline at 1-866-ALLIANT (1-866-255-4268) to start the loan process and to verify that the equipment meets energy efficiency standards prior to project start date.
Rebates for Iowa farmers
When you reduce your energy use, you save on your monthly utility bill and that is money you can reinvest in your farm!
Earn hundreds in cash back when you make energy efficiency investments. We offer rebates on:
- Circulating fans
- Heat reclaimers
- High-volume, low-speed fans
- Irrigation systems
- Livestock waterers
- Milk precoolers
- Motors and drives
- Scroll compressors
- Variable speed drives
- Ventilation systems
Custom rebates are also available for energy-efficient equipment not listed above. If you’re investing in new equipment or building a new facility you may qualify for a rebate.
FREE farm energy assessment
It’s important that each and every energy dollar be spent wisely. To help Iowa farmers better manage their energy costs, we offer a free farm energy assessment. An Alliant Energy agriculture representative performs the assessment and:
- Pinpoints energy waste on grain and livestock operations
- Identifies energy-efficient technologies that will reduce energy usage
- Recommends energy-efficient equipment

Whether you’re a college student moving into an apartment, a family moving to a new home or an empty nester downsizing to a condo, Alliant Energy offers an easy way for residential customers to start or stop service online.
Rest easy with Automatic Payment
Take one more task off your to-do list with Automatic Payment, a simple way to have your utility bill automatically paid and deducted from your checking or savings account each month.
You’ll receive your Alliant Energy billing statement at the usual time and it will show the scheduled date of the payment.
Start by enrolling in online account management and in a few easy steps you’ll have 24-hour access to your account. Then you’ll be able to sign up for Automatic Payment.

Our automated telephone system lets you make a payment, report an outage, start or stop service, get account information and more, 24 hours a day with no waiting.
Our system responds to voice commands but if there is background noise, like a TV, dog or normal conversation, it may not understand your request. If you experience a problem with our automated system, noise is likely the culprit. Try calling again from a quiet room.
