Balancing your budget can be a juggling act, but with Alliant Energy's Budget Billing program, you can spread heating and cooling costs over the entire year.
You'll pay the same amount each month so you can budget effectively - with no seasonal surprises.
How Budget Billing works
Alliant Energy will calculate your average yearly bill based on current fuel costs, anticipated fuel cost changes and the past 12 months of energy usage at your home or business.
We'll review your budget plan every six months to compare your actual energy usage costs to your budget amount. If there's a significant difference, we'll adjust your monthly budget amount up or down accordingly.
If you used more energy than you paid for, you'll owe us - the amount owed will be divided by 12 and added to your new budget amount.
If you used less energy than you paid for, we'll owe you - your future budget bills will be adjusted appropriately.
If you just moved in, you may want to establish your own usage history before enrolling in the plan, or we can estimate a budget amount.
All residential customers are eligible for the Budget Billing plan.

You can find your proposed Budget Billing monthly payment by logging into or registering for My Account online account access. If it's acceptable, just complete and submit the online enrollment form.
