In March 2002, Alliant Energy, along with the City of Clinton, Iowa, and Clinton Baseball Club, Inc., agreed to rename Riverview Stadium, home of the Clinton LumberKings professional baseball team, Alliant Energy Field.
Built in 1937, Alliant Energy Field is the anchor of Clinton's Riverview Park, a 65-acre city park along the Mississippi River. The stadium attracts more than 125,000 visitors and hosts more than 100 games and events each year.
Under the agreement, Alliant Energy grants its name to the stadium. We neither own nor operate the Field. Instead, these functions continue to be performed by the current managers of the Clinton Baseball Club.
The costs of the naming rights are borne entirely by Alliant Energy shareowners. Customers of the company do not pay any costs associated with this agreement.
