“It is a top priority to me that Alliant Energy is an exceptional place to work. All employees should feel comfortable, valued and respected. It’s good for them, good for our company and good for our customers. Building and maintaining an inclusive environment takes effort. I am proud of the work being done on all levels, especially the employee-driven initiatives and events.”
Patricia L. Kampling, Chairman, President and CEO of Alliant Energy
How we describe diversity and inclusion
Diversity is more than just the visible: races, ethnicities and genders. It includes education, cultural experiences, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and many other invisible differences that make each of us unique.
Our goal is to promote inclusion so that each employee feels free to contribute to their fullest potential.
A welcoming environment
We provide resources to our employees that foster inclusion and a better understanding about diversity. Our Employee Resource Groups (Equality Alliance, Emerging Professionals Connection, Multicultural Network, Veteran’s Alliance and Women’s Network) give all employees an opportunity to grow professionally, network, build community relationships and socialize with other employees.

How we do business
A diverse supplier base helps us to meet the challenge of supplying everything from office supplies to vehicles in a timely and cost effective manner. That is why we strongly support the use of minority, women and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. We are a long-standing member of Wisconsin Iowa and Central Illinois Minority Supplier Development Council (WICI). WICI certifies minority-owned businesses and matches them with member corporations.

We also devote resources to support the economic development of the communities we serve. We offer free site location consulting to companies interested in expanding or relocating in our utility service territory, marketing and training assistance for economic development organizations, energy expertise for businesses and more.
