Alliant Energy Foundation provides $2,550 grant to Seasons Center

Funding will expand resources for clinicians in providing treatment to families and individuals

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – January 30, 2013 – The Alliant Energy Foundation gave $2,550 to the Seasons Center for Behavioral Health in December to expand access to researched-based treatment modalities and materials for clinicians helping individuals and families with mental health and substance abuse. The grant will help the Seasons Center staff in providing resources and toolkits to clinicians on new and emerging topics in prevention and treatment.

“Making sure we can offer up-to-date, evidenced based resources to assist our patients across several counties is a top priority for us,” said Kim Scorza, Seasons Center executive director. “This grant will help us provide greater assistance and we sincerely appreciate the Alliant Energy Foundation’s help.”

“We are pleased to assist Seasons Center with its important mission of improving the health and well-being of families in the community,” said Alliant Energy Foundation Executive Director Julie Bauer.

The grants were made through the Alliant Energy Foundation’s Community Grants Program, which has awarded more than $275,000 in grants during its third-of-three grant cycles in 2012. More than $1 million was provided to 557 non-profit organizations across the Alliant Energy service area in 2012. The Foundation awards community grants to specific projects benefiting the community in the areas of arts, education, environment, and human and civic needs.
