Alliant Energy-Iowa provides $15,950 to 30 non-profits across Iowa to assist those in need

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Dec. 21, 2012 – Alliant Energy-Iowa (Interstate Power and Light Company, an Alliant Energy company) is spreading a little extra holiday cheer to 30 non-profit organizations across Iowa through a year-end giving campaign.

As part of that $15,950 initiative, the company is providing $2,500 to the Salvation Army in both Cedar Rapids and Dubuque to assist with their Red Kettle Campaigns.

In addition, 28 food pantries and other non-profits across the state received funds to support their efforts to provide meals and assistance to individuals and families in need during the holiday season.

“We are honored and humbled to be able to reach out to human service organizations before the holidays to assist our neighbors in need,” said Tom Aller, President – Alliant Energy-Iowa. “During this season of giving and throughout the year, we are grateful to be able to make a difference in the communities we serve.”
