Alliant Energy remains committed to Deerfield

Company will close its Deerfield office building, but will remain present in community

MADISON, WI – February 20, 2012 – Wisconsin Power and Light Company (WPL), an Alliant Energy company, announced today that it will be closing its field office in Deerfield. However, the only change the people of Deerfield will notice is the closed building, Alliant Energy will continue to provide the exceptional, reliable service our Deerfield customers have come to expect.

The decision to close the office building is primarily a cost saving move, savings that will be passed on to customers. The building, which was built in 1997, currently only houses equipment for the local service representative who will continue to serve customers in the area.

“The decision to close this office building will not impact our commitment to the community,” explains Matt Richardson, Sr. Manager of Customer Operations. “This move will help us manage costs and operate more efficiently while still providing our Deerfield area customers with safe, reliable service.”

The building has not been used for local operations for several months and will be closed on March 1, 2012.
