Alliant Energy Foundation provides $2,500 gift to Family Advocates, Inc. in Platteville

MADISON, WI – December 28, 2011 – The Alliant Energy Foundation is spreading a little extra holiday cheer to six non-profit organizations across Wisconsin through a year-end giving campaign. As part of that $13,500 initiative, the Foundation is providing Family Advocates, Inc. in Platteville with a $2,500 gift.

The mission of Family Advocates, Inc. is to keep abused children out of danger and in safe homes, while partnering with parents to build strong families. Two programs of Family Advocates, Inc. that support this mission are the Legal Advocate Program and Coordinated Youth Program.

“Family Advocates is incredibly appreciative for this generous gift from the Alliant Energy Foundation,” said Director Robin Weigel. “Donations like this are vital to our programming, as we advocate for the safety of children and success of parents.”

“We are honored and humbled to be able to reach out to human service organizations before the holidays to assist our neighbors in need,” said Julie Bauer, Alliant Energy Foundation Executive Director. “During this season of giving and throughout the year, we are grateful to be able to make a difference in the communities we serve.”
