CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – December 22, 2011 – The Alliant Energy Foundation is spreading a little extra holiday cheer to the Hawkeye Area Community Action Program, Inc. (HACAP) by providing a year-end gift of $7,500.

“We are incredibly appreciative for this unexpected gift from the Alliant Energy Foundation,” said Jane Drapeaux, Chief Executive Officer. “Donations like this are vital to the success of our extensive programming, as we work toward building a stronger community.”

HACAP provides a variety of anti-poverty programs and collaborates with community partners to serve individuals and families within a six county region. Programming focuses on: early childhood development; advocacy and information; safe and affordable housing and energy; employment and family preservation; health and nutrition.

“The Alliant Energy Foundation commends the HACAP organization for the remarkable advocacy they provide to children, adults and families,” said Tom Aller, Alliant Energy Foundation Board President. “During this season of giving and throughout the year, we are grateful to be able to help make a difference in the communities we serve.”
